What is ISAAC SwapCare™?


SwapCare™ is a five‑year, prepaid coverage program for the ISAAC Foundation embedded platform. It includes extended hardware service coverage and bundled Software Support & Subscription (SnS) for the software running on the covered unit.

How is SwapCare different from Extended Coverage for Prelude and Nemesis?


SwapCare is designed specifically for embedded hardware and uniquely includes the ability to swap a failed unit for a replacement. Extended Coverage for Prelude and Nemesis applies to hosting platforms and extends warranty coverage under a different service model, without a hardware swap mechanism.

What hardware is eligible for SwapCare?


Only ISAAC Foundation units purchased from SMI (or an authorized channel) and explicitly listed by serial number on the Order Form or invoice are eligible.

How long does SwapCare coverage last?


SwapCare provides a fixed five (5)‑year coverage term, starting on the invoice date of the covered hardware. Coverage does not renew automatically and does not reset after replacements.

What hardware issues are covered?


SwapCare covers hardware defects in materials or workmanship under normal intended use, subject to exclusions defined in the Terms and Conditions.

What is a standard RMA under SwapCare?


Under a standard RMA, SMI may repair or replace the affected unit after the failed hardware is returned. Standard RMAs are included and do not count toward swap limits.

What is the Advance Swap option?


Advance Swap allows SMI to ship a replacement unit in advance of receiving the failed unit, helping minimize system downtime. This capability is a key differentiator of SwapCare.

Is there a fee for Advance Swap?


Yes. Each approved Advance Swap requires payment of a one‑time Swap Fee. The current Swap Fee is USD $890 per claim, and the applicable fee is the one in effect at the time the claim is approved.

How many Advance Swaps are allowed?


SwapCare includes one (1) Advance Swap per covered unit per rolling twelve (12)‑month period. There is no limit on standard RMAs for Covered Defects.

What software support is included?


SwapCare includes Software Support & Subscription (SnS) for the ISAAC software associated with the covered unit, including updates, maintenance releases, and remote technical support, subject to SMI’s then‑current SnS policy.
