Summary

Smart Monkeys, Inc. is an innovative and forward-thinking company that provides technical consulting, design and programming services for the show control and entertainment industry. Also, since 2015, Smart Monkeys Inc.  designs and manufactures its AV systems’ monitoring and management ISAAC platform. We’re looking for a self-motivated, talented and autonomous product specialist. In your role, you’ll be responsible for configuration of customer orders, customer trainings, platform level-2 support, troubleshooting and platform tests for the ever-growing ISAAC platform.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Consultancy role on System sizing and specification for customers.
  • Preparation, configuration, and test of customer orders.
  • Advise and setup an automated test infrastructure as well as test management tooling.
  • Provide platform level-2 support.
  • Provide customer training on the platform.
  • Potential onsite deployment support and training.
  • Participating in system-level tests in relationship with the overall platform R&D team.
  • Network- and/or System-related assistance/setup for SMI’s projects team.
  • Close collaboration with our support and QA team.
  • Self-manage assignments and work autonomously when necessary.
  • Travel is to be expected on average 30% of the time.

Qualifications

Knowledge of the following:

  • Proficient in networking general concepts (switch, Router, VLAN, DHCP, NTP, DNS, etc..).
  • Concrete experience setting up/managing networks.
  • Excellent abilities and skills for troubleshooting.
  • Concrete experience on VMware or other virtualizations (e.g Proxmox).
  • General Linux usage and basic management.
  • Programming experience (middleware/automation/management workflows – scripting)
  • Understanding and basic working with RESTful API.
  • "Big picture" of computer architecture (General functions of Compute/Storage/Networking)
  • Ability to understand and interpret interactions between systems.
  • Familiarity with PXE/SNMP/Nodered is a real plus.
  • Understanding of dockerized environments is a plus.
  • Agile methods, development life cycle tools, Gitlab/Jira/Git is a plus.
  • Familiarity with AV/Entertainment systems, equipment, concepts, and technologies is a plus.
  • Office365 suite including Teams, Outlook, Word, and Excel.

Training / Education

  • 3+ years of work experience in comparable positions.
  • A bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering or computer science is not a requirement but a strong plus.

Compensation

  • Based on experience, USD/CAD per Annum paid on monthly basis.
  • 15 days of paid time off, 20 days after 1 year.
